Marvel Confirms 9 New Movies, Announces Casting For Black Panther
Last week, the internet went nuts when Warner Bros. announced release dates for a long list of DC superhero films. Not to be outdone, Marvel held a special event at the El Capitan Theatre today and announced release dates for 9 upcoming movies.
- Captain America: Civil War – May 6, 2016
- Doctor Strange – November 4, 2016
- Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – May 5, 2017
- Thor: Ragnarok – July 28, 2017
- Black Panther – November 3, 2017
- Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 – May 4, 2018
- Captain Marvel – July 6, 2018
- The Inhumans – November 2, 2018
- Avengers: Infinity War, Part 2 – May 3, 2019
I think I speak for everyone when I say HOLY SHIT. Keep in mind that this list doesn’t even include Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, which are both set for 2015. This also confirms that we will be seeing Robert Downey Jr. reprise the role of Tony Stark in the next Captain America film. Also, we’re getting TWO Avengers movies!
It’s a bit disappointing to see that there’s no Black Widow film in development, but we will be seeing Marvel’s first female led superhero film when Captain Marvel hits theaters in 2018!
These release dates are great, but that’s not all Marvel decided to drop on us today. They’ve also announced that Chadwick Boseman will be playing Black Panther in 2017! If you’ve seen him as Jackie Robinson in 42 or James Brown in Get on Up, then you know he’s one of the most promising, young actors in the business. I have no doubt that he’ll be perfect as Black Panther. Here’s some newly released concept art from the upcoming film…
Wow, that’s a lot to comprehend. You can catch your breath now. We’ll keep you updated with any new announcements from Marvel. In the meantime, you might want to go change your underwear.
